Traditionally made Murukku’s fried in wood pressed coconut oil provide a great snack alternative and are so much healthier than any commercial product which contains high amounts of sodium, sugar and fat. A handful of these are enough to manage your cravings and satiate you.
We are currently in the midst of a major change in what people eat and in the way they eat because traditional eating has been related to positive health outcomes and sustainability.
To celebrate this sentiment and keep our traditional way of cooking alive, our artisanal sesame seed Murukku’s are handmade using rice flour, sesame seeds, butter, salt and wood pressed coconut oil. All the ingredients are ethically sourced from local farmers in Palakkad, Kerala.
The rice flour is kneaded with the sesame seeds. This dough is then passed through a wood Murukku maker into hot oil on a chulha. Traditionally, coconut oil is used for deep-frying the murukku’s, which gives a pleasant aroma while eating and also makes them a healthier option to eat.
Handmade in small batches, our murukku’s have no preservatives, no artificial flavour or color added.
Enjoy them with a cup of steaming chai or coffee or just by themselves.
